Dear Parents and Carers,

Mr. Purser - Assistant Headteacher

I am very pleased to announce that Mr. Purser has been appointed as Assistant Headteacher. Mr Purser will be working closely with Mrs. Triggs and myself as part of our Senoir Leadership Team. His key responsibilities are leading writing across the school as well as leading Key Stage 2.

We will publish teacher's classes for next year, in next week’s newsletter. 

Celebrating Great Attendance in Term 5

As you know, each term we now have a 100% attendance presentation when each class will have a special draw where children can win a new storybook.

This is now a termly event, which means children have a chance to participate 6 times in any year.

Each child with 100% attendance in Term 5, will be given a ticket on TODAY, which means they can wear their own clothes on Monday.

They will also be given another ticket, which they need to bring to Monday’s assembly, so they can enter the draw for each class and have a chance of winning a book.

An event organised by The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army are holding a free children event:

Beach Themed Holiday Club for children aged 4 – 11years

on Saturday 9^th July 10am – 3pm at

The Salvation Army, Hassell Drive, Newtown,

Bristol BS2 0AN

There will be games, craft and much, much more at this club.

It is free and lunch and refreshments will be provided.

You will need to register your child(ren) at 10am

Hot School Meals

Eden has confirmed that the school price will not be increased from this September, therefore it remains at £2.25.

For all children in Year 2 from September they will have to pay for their hot meals.  If you think you are eligible for Free School Meals please see the school office who can help you apply.

Final Staff Training Day

The last training day, when the school is closed, will be on Friday  8^th July.

Old Phones and Tablets

We are looking into interesting ways in which we can use old technology to support learning in school. If you have an old tablet or mobile phone please pass them onto us so that we can use them in class.

Summer Book Fair

The Book Fair will be in school next week. 

It will be open for parents to buy books on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the morning from 9 - 10am and in the afternoon from 1.30 - 3.30pm.   There will be NO BOOK FAIR on Thursday afternoon.

Please support the Book Fair. As well as being able to buy books for your children, we get books for school too, depending on how much is spent.

Sports Day

Sports Day will take place on the 27^th June at The Park – more details to follow.

Christ the King Culture Day – A message from Ope in Year 6

When we dig deeper into the culture hidden in Christ the King, we discover that we have a wide range of children from many different cultures.  Because of this, we have decided to celebrate these different cultures by putting on a day called Culture Day.  Culture Day will be on Wednesday 6^th July – the day where we all learn about different countries, cultures and traditions. More details will be shared soon.

Lost property

There is a lot of lost property in the school.  It will be placed outside today and Monday, please come and look for any items that might belong to your child.

Hot Weather

Now that we have seen the sun over the last couple of days, please can I remind you that children should have sunscreen applied before they come to school.  It is also important that children bring water bottles into school each day.

Celebration Assembly

The next Celebration Assembly will be on Monday 20^th June at 9am, where the following children will receive their Headteacher's Award: Miley B (YR), Imogen (Y1), Hannah M (Y2), Kuzi (Y3), Chloe (Y4), Rubie (Y5), Carter (Y6).

This term, as well as rewarding 99% and 100% attendance, we will also be rewarding classes that demonstrate a big improvement in attendance. We done this week to:
