Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s been a great start
to the new term!
Year 1 and 2’s 100 Days of Learning
Today Year 1 and Year 2
celebrated 100 days of learning. The children had a great day of fun and learning.
Thanks to everybody at home for supporting the children with costumes and lots
of number work!
Year 5 and 6 on Television!
We were very proud that
our Year 5 and 6 were featured on BBC1’s ‘Inside Out’, which was broadcast
earlier this week. The story focused on the work of Bristol Old Vic Theatre and
its work supporting the community. This program can be found on BBC iPlayer.
Parking outside school
Can we please ask
everybody to park considerately. Recently an ambulance was unable to pass
outside school as cars were parked on both sides of the road.
You may have also noticed
that a Traffic Warden has been patrolling outside school. Traffic Wardens are
able to issue fines to drivers who are parked on zig-zag lines and the
allocated loading bay.

Celebration Assembly
The next Celebration
Assembly will be on Monday 15th February at 9am, where the following children
will receive their Headteacher's Award: Omar
(YR), Emmanuel (Y1), Evie-Rose (Y2), Colin (Y3), Abigail (Y4), Kyle (Y5) and
Ope (Y6).
Attendance!
Attendance! Attendance!
Well done to the following classes who
had attendance at over 97% this week:
- Year 2 with 98% attendance.
- Year 5 with 99% attendance.
A massive well done to Year 5 who had
99% attendance. They will now join Year1, who had 100% attendance before the
holiday, and will have a special
non-uniform day on Friday 26th
February.
Celebrating Great
Attendance
As you are aware, School of Christ the King is giving a high priority to
improving attendance and good punctuality. A number of initiatives have been
implemented in the school, to raise both pupil and parent awareness of this
issue and the benefits of good attendance.
One initiative we have started is a whole class non-school uniform day.
This is awarded once a week to any class for 100% attendance/most punctual
class.
We have also planned a 100% attendance presentation
when each class will have a special draw where children can win a new
storybook. We will be entering all children with 100% attendance and who have
no more than 2 late arrivals to school. Each 100% child will be given a ticket
on Tuesday 1st March which they need to bring to the following day’s
assembly. This ticket also means they can wear their own clothes on Wednesday 2nd
March. These dates have changed from the previous newsletter.
Governor Vacancy
We have a vacancy for a parent to become part of the Governing
Body of this school and to join the Finance Committee. This
committee is responsible for overseeing the budget and ensuring that value for
money is maintained and that funding is allocated appropriately. If you
feel you have the appropriate skills to contribute to the work of the
school and to attend regular meetings please apply in writing with an
outline of your experiences. This is a voluntary post.
